Tom Price - Senior Leader

I grew up in Aberaman in the Welsh valleys, moved to Llandeilo to live on a farm and did most of my O’levels in Welsh. I got married in 1990 to my beautiful wife Suzanne and moved to Swindon where I started work with the Ministry of Defence (MoD). In 1997 I joined Active Training as a training consultant. I went into full time ministry, as a minister, at Discovery Church Swindon in 2006. I love preaching and teaching the Good News and the empowering of the Holy Spirit.

I gave my life to Christ at the Apostolic Church Convention in Pen-y-growes in 1983. I was baptised in the Holy Spirit 1 year later and I have served God since then. What a privilege to know and love God through Jesus Christ my Lord!

I am married to Suzanne and we have 7 amazing children: Hannah, Joseph, James, Bethany, Grace, Samuel and Abigail.

I enjoy watching Wales play rugby, spending time with my family, reading, walking the dog and playing strategy PC games.

Geoff Naylor - CAP Manager / Elder

I was brought up in Oadby just outside Leicester and then had a wonderful time at university in Norwich where I studied Environmental Science and Chemistry and became a Christian during my 1st year.

After briefly helping in an Anglican church I worked in Saudi Arabia as part of a soil survey (not much soil but plenty of sand and rock).

After my return home I moved to Aberdeen to work in an oil analysis lab and met my wife to be, Wilma a midwife, through the Baptist church there.

As I was unhappy being cooped up in a lab after roving around the desert we moved to Witham in Essex and I retrained as a software engineer. We became part of a stimulating United Reform Church where I was an elder until we moved to Wroughton and a role writing color printing software.

We joined Discovery Church just before it moved into the Swan pub and when the leadership later felt called to start a Christians Against Poverty debt center in Swindon I was the once chosen to head it up.

We have run Alpha many times and seen many CAP clients and other become Christians through it which is always a thrill.

I now also have the privilege of leading the Wroughton branch of Discovery Church

I was brought up going to church and thought of myself as a Christian but had not really met Jesus in a personal way.

At a meeting I was invited to at university the words “you were created to know God personally” really spoke to me.

I have been a Christian for many years now but still find that it is a life of adventure and discovery.

My favourite verse is 2 Corinthians 5: 19-20 God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.  We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.

Wilma and I have three children; Jenny who is married to Jon and part of City Church, Bristol, Sally who is a Christian Schools Worker in Exeter and Heather who is studying Contemporary Crafts in Falmouth.

My hobbies include playing the violin in Swindon and Marlborough symphony orchestras, hill walking & camping, cycling, canoeing and DIY.

Irene Stone - Elder / Senior Leadership Team

“As a young women, I was tossed around by the storms of life; and it seemed that no matter how hard I tried, I always managed to find someone’s disapproval. Searching for the meaning of live during a time of poor health, I asked the Lord God Almighty for his help: He healed my body and my way of life.

My favourite bible verse is Romans 12:2. “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – His good, pleasing and perfect will.” This scripture is not more important than any other, but it has always been an anchor in my life. It helps me understand the way of things, both in heaven and on earth.

My husband is Bryan and we have a son and a daughter and three grandchildren. I find great satisfaction in gardening. It helps me to find peace in my heart and fill me with hope and expectation, as I see each new season unfold.”

Trevor King - Elder / Senior Leadership Team
Trevor is married to Louise. The have two children, Sophie and James. Trevor is also responsible for the prayer ministry within the church.

Matt Winbow - Pastor @ DC#Parks

I currently work full time for a Christian charity. I received a 2:1 (Hons) in Biblical Studies and Applied Theology from Mattersey Hall. The following people have influenced my thinking: Michael Horton, N. T. Wright, John Piper, C. S. Lewis, Michael S. Heiser, Scot McKnight and Tim Mackie.

My favourite Bible verse is Romans 8:16-17 : "16 The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him."

I love Ice Hockey (Anaheim Ducks & Swindon Wildcats), science, astronomy, space and exploration. My favourite books are the Dune Series by Frank Herbert, the Narnian Chronicles by C.S. Lewis and the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings by J.R.R Tolkien.  I have been writing a steampunk novel for the past 10 years and hope that one day it might be in a publishable condition.

I am married to Kayleigh and we have two children, Judah and Esther.

Kayleigh Winbow - Administrator

I was brought up in a loving home and was taught that God was real but never went to church. When I was 11 I started to attend Sunday school on my own and have been going to church ever since. At 15 I decided to give God my life in all its entirety and I have had all my dreams come true and I’m still only in my twenties! Living for God is life’s biggest adventure!

My favourite Bible verse is 2 Corinthians 12:10 "Since I know it is all for Christ’s good, I am quite content with my weakness and with insults, hardships, persecutions and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong” As a human I get it wrong a lot and always fall short of God’s standard, however my life is full on for Christ and when I am depending on him, that is when I am at my strongest in him.

I enjoy spending time with my family and friends more than anything. I love playing guitar/piano/singing and dancing around my living room with my two lovely children. Although I’m not the best I enjoy cooking and try my best to balance being at work, being a mum, wife, housewife, daughter and friend.

I am married to Matthew and we have a two beautiful children.
